THE PRINCESS'S DOWRY - Anna Kitsou turns humble clay into lace masterpieces and immortalizes the luxurious royal garments Homer describes in his poetry.
Textile was a token for status and wealth in Homer’s times.
Kitsou’s „Dentelle“ series reminds us of the elaborate dress designs, care free Nausika and her companions wear when they meet Odysseus at the river side. Vibrance, beauty, kindness and soft power, the traits Homer bestows on Nausika, are also evident in Kitsou’s jewellery. Nausika and Odysseus will have to part. But their short encounter will stand for the beneficial blessing of joy on a broken heart. Kitsou has shown her work in Paris, Brussels, Athens and at „Schmuck - Munich Jewellery Week“.
