PENELOPE’S MISTAKE - Sometimes making mistakes is the only way to success! Penelope must fail in weaving, in order to avoid marrying the usurper of her missing husband’s estate.
Sevi Mavrelou, a floral and jewellery designer, gains insight in knotting’s unlimited possibilities as she experiments with the perfection of the wrong technique. Mastering macrame, Mavrelou creates unique fiber plots with strong references to the rich national dress traditions of Greece. Plywood used in window decoration becomes Mavrelou’s tool to unfold her imagination and turn ordinary material into valuable jewellery.
Mavrelou has studied bouquet design in Greece and Holland and jewellery design in Athens. She has shown her work in Spain, Greece and Cyprus.
