Eleftheria Spantidaki
Et in Arcadia ego:  Flowers and plants growing in her own "Paradise Lost", floral patterns embroidered on traditional Greek dresses, childhood experiences triggered by a garden-loving father and an art-aficionada mother: these are the sources of inspiration that flow through Eleftheria Spantidaki’s imaginary garden, a garden made of yarns, fabrics, golden thread and gemstones.
The garden plays an important role in history of culture. Nowadays, "urban gardening" is re-invented to heal frustrated city dwellers from compulsive overproduction and overconsumption. Throughout human history we meet the garden as the place of bliss: from the Elysean Fields of Crete, the Persian Paradise, the soteriological utopia described in the Bible to the architectural perfection of the 18th century, the garden is the ultimate place to be!

Eleftheria Spantidaki, a graduate of Landscape Architecture from the University of Newcastle, with numerous solo and group art jewellery exhibitions, describes her work: “I create unique jewellery which resists the onslaught of mass aesthetics, jewellery to adorn extraordinary women, to express feelings, to set a milestone for personal triumphs.”<
